About Us
Well, “US” is actually “ME,” David Kempf, at least for right now. This web
site has been a dream of mine for more than twenty years. I had originally
planned to make it a catalog order operation, but life got in the way and I
could never get things up and running.
Now that my wonderful daughter is through
college and my rather intense career has calmed down somewhat, I think I can
finally achieve the dream. The level of technology nowadays doesn’t hurt,
either—The emergence of the internet and the change in our shopping habits
makes all this possible
Me, I’m just a regular guy who ends up in a panic every time I have to come
up with a gift for a lady. To a great extent, it’s my own fault, as I tend
to procrastinate somewhat (a lot, actually). It’s just too easy to get
sidetracked by business, or the project car in the garage, or the football
game, or the boat show, or any of a hundred different things, you know?!!
I DO put effort into planning for gifts and I always think I’ll remember
that ideal gift I thought of. When the time comes, however, I always seem to
forget what it was. So I end up at the last minute in a mad rush around town
or the mall trying to find the perfect gift, one that looks like I planned
it months ago. If you’ve ever been in the mall on Christmas Eve, you’ve seen
me!
So, this web site is my solution to the problem. I’ve tried to put
everything I’ve learned over the years into one place so I can just come
here to refresh my memory and be able to plan rationally and without the
usual panic. Hopefully, you will find this information helpful, as well.
There’s a huge amount of information and resources contained on this site
and it has taken far more time to organize it and put it on paper than I
ever dreamed it would, but it’s been a labor of love and I’m proud of it.
